My unclear and little motivating academic year: Education is really my vocation?

Undoubtedly all academic years are different, every year its presents differents subjects and the teachers are different. This year in particular had specials features for me, this year was little motivator and I did not have cognitives challenges. By contrast, each of the homework made were boring jobs, this homework occupied much of my time but were not significant for me. According to what have learned in this three years, the importante of our career (education) is based in make significant educative moments for the children, but is difficult to understand this for me, when our teachers of the university don´t have a dynamic constructivist to teach, and they don´t give the example.

According to the above is necessary to consider the following question, Is posible teach the constructivism through conductist lessons? Apparently some of my teachers believe that, they are constantly saying that is important to make educative moments in which children should be the protagonists and themselves must to build their knowledge, but our educational reality as students is very different, obviously we are not girls of seven years old (and our teachers don´t must to treat us like children), but is contradictory and difficult to understand the discourse constructivist that has the majority of teachers, because his discourse its not resembles in the educational activities of them.

See these situations in my academic reality was very demotivating, because are situations like these the which make that the people be question about their true vocation, making that me ask myself: is "the education" my vocation? According to the experiences of this academic year the answer should be NO. The lack of professionalism of teachers is evident, some lessons are not planned and it shows the lack of commitment that the teachers have. The intention is not to blame the teachers of everything, I know that my lack of consistency in academic activities is a little responsible for the academic failure of this year, but at the same time, that inconsistency is a product of the little motivation that I had for the career this academic year.

Finally it is necessary to say that although this year has been difficult for me, but I can not stay alone with the bad aspects. In this academic year the most salvageable was the practical experiences with the children, and I think that are those moments the which should drive me to continue in the career of education. Although the models received this year have not been the best, is necessary believe that our future teaching practices could make a change, because the critique that was just made about to the teachers of this year, contributes to knowledge about "how be a good teacher" and worry about the significant learning of the children, trying not to follow bad models of this year, but yes the good models.

Challenges in my discipline

My discipline needs much changes to get a better education system, these changes are:

The education needs to incorporate technologies, although most schools have computers, few schools permit that the children to use the computers. Computers its used like ornaments and not like educative tools. I think that the teachers should give more freedom to students in the use of technologies. And the education should create more educative instances in which students can learn about new technological advances.

The education must incorporate social matters in the curriculum. I believe that the schools should create social conscience in children, and that is a important challenge for education in Chile, because the education prefers to focus on other more structured matters. I think that the school should promote moments in which children interact with their social reality.

At the same time my discipline should to worry in create new change in practice of the students to obtain a meaningful learning.

A Piece of News: Teacher`s strike.

In this last weeks the "Teacher`s strike" it is the most important event in the country. The teacher`s strike has caused a big problem to educative system, the students have been lost class and the parents are preacupate because they think that the children could lose the academic year.

At the beiginning of the strike the great majority of municipal school supported the mobilization, but with the pass of the time some teacher has decided to take up again the class, this decision was cause of the not many things obtain.

The people more affected are the students, they lose class all the day, and the students of fourth grade have to take the test call PSU. the parents of this young people say that the students are not preparate to take this test. But the goverment give bad solves for this problem.

The piece of News that I would like to head is that Piñera is not in the electoral campaign. and other good piece of New taht i would like to head is that our educative system is not govern for the capitalist system.

Improving my faculty facilities

In this moment my faculty has serious space`s problem, the library is a little place, and the people have to go to other place when they want study. The university propose the cafeteria to study, but in my opinion that is a really bad place to concentrate on studying.
The computation room is very small, and although in this semester we have more computer, is not enough space for the lots of people.

The first thing that is necessary improving is the space problems, the most of the class room its inapropiate to have lesson, and the students are nearly pile up.
The cafeteria is not very good, and each day our food its less and less.

The steps to improve the faculty is meet to people and organize a committee in charge for research the students problems, their suggestions and the principal things in the which their want make a change.

I belive that the best way to resolve the situation is build more space and focus in the students problems.

The spiritual and emotional education

I believe that it is really important that the school system takes conscience about the importance of make a change in the education, Is necessary that the teachers lost the afraid for build a new education.
I think as well as william that is necessary enable to the students enriched in differents dimension, the markes it isn`t the most important in the lerning process of the children, the spiritual and emotional happiness is a part important in the human development and the school and the teachers should worry abaut that dimension.
But in this social work the responsably is not only of the educative system, because the goverment should make a change in a macro nivel, and restructurate the educatives rules and help in the educative process of each student.

Election day

I`m not registrered to vote, i believe that the vote is really important, but I`m not sure of my decision, i`m an irresponsible person and I``m not ready to decide, and I believe that the presidential candidates are not very convincing.

I believe that in this electoral campaigns the candidates are not right, because they are saying children argument to invalidate opponents candidates, and that in my opinion is a dirty trick. I think that the presitential candidates most than criticized to the opponets, they should look after your own things.

I believe that the person running for president should not be the most important capitalist of Chile, he should have social concience, he must is preocupated of the poor people and their education, he should be honorable and innovative.

In the moments in which can i see the socials unjustice i would like make a change but them I think that the best desition is not involucrate in the politic.

The election day it`s a important day, it is the moment in which the people decide the future of the country, and the person choosed will

Criminal Laws

I think that the capital punishment is a really bad solution to reduce criminality, I believe that nobody has the right to kill other people, because if somebody (a judge or other person) think that him have the power to kill others, also is a criminal and a killer.

In my opinion the capital punishment have not much pros, the most of the pros are focus in give peace to family of the victim, because the family believe that if the criminal die, they could overcome the sadness. And the cons are a lot, because the justice is convert in a colonial justice, with incivilized laws.

I believe that the first measure that the goverment should take is change the image that the people have about the justice, because the people think that the justice is only to punishment the criminal. I believe that the prision should be a place where the criminal could think abaut his crimes and take a new form to see the life.

I think that the legal system is not a good method to decide the future of the people. And the laws sometimes are aplicate different depend of social class.

I never been victim of a crime, and I wait don´t have that live a similar situation.

Places in Santiago.

I believe that Santiago does not have many place to visit, because most of the place in Santiago are typical landscape of urban zone and they are not very remarkable.
But in this moment I am going to refer about some places that are a little beautiful, those places are located in more natural zones as The Santa Lucia Hill or San Cristobal hill and have beautiful views, without as much pollution.

In Santiago the things that the tourist should do is to go to Fantasilandia and they should play in all the games. Also these people should know the night life in Santiago, they should visit to the neighborhoods such as Bellavista, Suecia, Brasil and other, these places are recommend to have fun.

Now I will make a list of top five place and activities:
1.- The first place to recommend is the Parade Ground. This spot is considered the historical center of chile. tourists should visit this place if they want to know about the metropolitan cathedral, the museum national historic, and the statue of Pedro de Valdivia.
2.- Also, the tourist should visit to the museum Bellas Artes and the Museum of Arte Contemporàneo, these two places are a big show of art classic and modern art,respectively.
3.- The general cementery is a place that would be very educative to the tourist, in the niches and tombs the tourists would found part of the Chileans history, in this cemetery are the bodies of people very relevant to Chilean history such as Salvador Allende, Gladys Marin, Manuel Rodriguez, among others.
4.- The MIM is a place very funny and interesting, the tourist that have children should to take them to visit the Musseum Interactive Mirador. In this place adult people and children would have a nice moment.
5.- The Moneda is a great place to visit, this spot has a beautiful architecture. The tourist should to go to The Moneda if they want to know about chilean history and the goverment house.

My Education

In my high school education I could have the typical subject of the public education such as language and comunication, mathematics, biology, history. I didn`t like those subjects, I prefered other subject least common such as photography, psichology and other more entertaining.

Some teachers tried to make innovative pedagogical practices. But most of the teachers continued doing taditional practice, in those classes the students had a passive participation. and the teacher spoke all the time.

In my high school, the students could have access to technology of the school, in science we could use microscope, computers and other technologic instruments, but I didn`t like to use those things because I could break them.

My level educational is not very good, but all the foult is the educational system, because our system reproduce the social class and dont give the similar oportinities to all the people.

I belive that the best idea to the autorities to improve our currents educational system is make a igualitary education, and give oportunities to poor people, doign constructivist practice for them, and not only to rich people.

My opinion of transantiago

In my opinion the transantiago is a good system of transportation. I did not have the opportunity to use the called “yellow buses”, that existed before the tranasantiago system. But from what I saw on television news, these minibuses only brought problems in Santiago, they were very noisy, polluted far the payment system was not effective, the students were treated badly, people were hanging on the doors of the micros and had no fixed bus stops, the bus drivers stopped where desired.

I think over time the transport system transantiago is good, every day is a little better. the system don´t having a big change, but if people fail to claim and be set at the positive side, they would to see that the system is not so bad.

I believe that a major change that should be done is to build more shelters, in Santiago are places in which to walk five blocks to find a bus stop, I also believe that it should improve the frequency of all journeys, making larger minibuses for schedules in which more people use the minibuses.

An important aspect to stress is that many people do not pay for the use of transantiago, therefore there should be greater oversight.

A country I would like to visit

The country I would like to go is Morocco; I like this country because I believe that its traditions are really interesting. In the pictures that I have seen, I could find amazing places and people who live lives very different from ours, with others customs, and I would love to see that for myself.

I know Morocco, is a country located in northern Africa at the forefront of Europe, the great majority of people who live there are Arabs, they profess the Islam and they have many laws. Also I know that because of the location in that country people speak three languages, in first place Moroccan Arabic, also is used the Spanish language and French. I also know that women are oppressed by men because they have authority over women.

I would like to talk with Morocco people, visit the more important places such as ruins, mosques, and of course the desert. I want to try the typical food and buy everything interesting for me.
Mmm... I said that I would like to go to Morocco but for any reason I would live more than one month in this country, I think that Morocco is a nice place to visit, but it has many rules to live there, which I don´t like very much, the rules scare me.

Write about your experience in the first term 2009.

My experience in the first term 2009 was good at some times and in others moments was really bad. I had teachers who were a big motivation for my future profession, they could do a change in me and now I can belive in the constructivist learning. I learnt important things about qualitative research, and also I could learn about the importance of considering the culture and social context of children in different subjects.

The last term I didn´t do sport activities, I had not time to take deportive subjects because the obligatories subjects occupied all my time. But that is not important for me, because I don´t like sport very much.

I had different challenges last term, and one of the most important was that I had teachers not so good, they were little committed to their work as educators. Also I had to endured to semester end pressure and I had to make many homework in little time, but sometimes it was my responsibility to leave everything to last moment.

Like the other past semester, the first term 2009 I could not stay with my family because they live in Salamanca, but they were always gave me their support. And with my friends that studying in Valparaiso, we always tried to communicated. The important thing is that I found here, in santiago, cool people, friends who love me.
